What is the application process?

To apply for Disaster CalFresh, we recommend you visit your local County Welfare Department Office You'll be asked to submit an application and have a face-to-face interview.

You can also submit an application online at However, you will still need to do an in-person interview at one of the county welfare office locations.

What if I'm already on CalFresh?

If you live in one of the worst hit zipcodes, you don't need to do anything. Your benefits will automatically be increased to the max amount.

If you don't live in these zipcodes and you have been affected by the fires, you can request a CalFresh supplement by submitting a signed affidavit attesting to your losses. If you live in Sonoma County, you can call 844-719-8808 to request the supplement.

What if I've been displaced to another county?

If you have had to move to another county in California due to the fires, you can apply for Disaster CalFresh at the local County Welfare Department Office where you are.

How do I know if I'm eligible?

To be eligible for Disaster CalFresh, you must:

  1. have lived or worked in one of the affected counties during the time of the disaster.
  2. have been financially affected by the fire (such as damage to property, incurred expenses due to disaster, or loss of income/assets).
